Child’s Frilly Hat

Sized to fit a 20” head. (2 year old)

1 pr. 16” circular needles. (sz. 6)

1 set Double Point Needles (sz. 6

Stitch gauge:   25 stitches = 5 ˝”   6 rows = 1”

Cast on 270 stitches.  (I know it seems like a lot, but the brim is quite frilly)

K 2 rounds. 

*K 1, cast off 1* repeat for 1 round.  85 stitches remaining.

 P 2 rounds. 

Continue working in K stitches until piece reaches about 6 inches from the P rows. 

*K 9, K 2 tog* repeat from * * for 1 round.

 *K 8, K 2 tog* repeat from * * for 1 round.

Continue in this manner, gradually decreasing number of K stitches, switching to DPNs when necessary, until you have only 6 stitches remaining.
